To create an Australian Domestic Payment Template, follow the steps below:
- Click Templates on the Menu
- Click New on the Control Bar
- Click Domestic Payment Template or Domestic Salary Payment Template
- Complete the sections below
The Domestic Salary Payment Template option is only available if you have the Payroll entitlement. If selected, only users with this entitlement will be able to view the template and any payments created from it.
Payment Information
- If you are entitled to more than one Division, select the Division under which the template will be created

- Select the account the funds will be debited From
Payment Method
Select Direct Entry as the Payment Method.
Payment Details
- Enter a Template Name up to 16 characters. This will become the Payment Name when you create a payment from the template.
- Enter a Template Description up to 40 characters
- Enter a Payment Reference up to 18 characters. This will appear as part of the narrative on the debit account and beneficiary's statements and on payment reports.
- If required, select a Confidential Data Group from the drop-down list
Only users who are entitled to the Confidential Data Group will be able to view and action the template and payments created from the template.
- Enter a Statement Narrative up to 40 characters. This will appear as part of the narrative on the debit account statement.
- Select a Direct Entry User ID from the drop-down list
- Select the Disable Beneficiary changes for Payments created from this Template checkbox if you need to prevent users adding new beneficiaries or editing details of existing beneficiaries in payments created from this template
Beneficiary Details
To reduce the risk of fraud, ANZ recommends you always validate beneficiary details when processing a payment using a template.
- Click Add to add a payment instruction to the list
- Add Beneficiary
Add Beneficiary from your Payee ListClick in the Beneficiary Name field and select a beneficiary from the drop-down list. You can also use the Search Beneficiaries feature to find a beneficiary in your Payee List.Add New BeneficiaryNew Beneficiaries will automatically be added to your Payee List.
- Click in the Beneficiary Name field and click Add New Beneficiary
If Add New Beneficiary isn't visible, you do not have entitlements to create payees.
- Enter the Beneficiary Name
- Enter the 6-digit BSB associated to the Beneficiary Account Number (no spaces or hyphens)
- If you will be sending a Beneficiary Advice, enter an Email Address
- Enter the beneficiary's 9-digit Beneficiary Account Number (no spaces or hyphens)
- Click Proceed
- Click in the Beneficiary Name field and click Add New Beneficiary
- The Lodgement Reference contains the Payment Reference and can be changed for this beneficiary if required. The Lodgement Reference can be up to 18 characters and will appear as part of the narrative on the funding account and beneficiary's statement and on payment reports.
- Enter the Amount to pay the beneficiary or leave the amount as zero (then enter the amount when you create the payment from the template)
- If required, click Beneficiary Payment Details to update the following:
Remitter NameThe debit account short name is displayed in Remitter Name and can be changed for this beneficiary if necessary. The Remitter Name can be up to 16 characters and will appear as part of the narrative on the beneficiary's statement.Withholding TaxIf tax is to be withheld from the payment, choose a Withholding Tax Indicator and enter the Withholding Tax AmountTransaction CodeThe default Transaction Code is displayed and can be changed for this beneficiary if necessary. Transaction Codes available:
- 50 — General Payment
- 53 — Payroll
- 54 — Pension
- 56 — Dividend
- 57 — Debenture Interest
Trace AccountBy default the Trace Account in the Batch Defaults is selected but can be changed for this beneficiary if necessary. - Repeat above steps to add each beneficiary to the template
To remove one or more payment instructions from the list, tick the checkbox next to the instruction number and click Remove.

Review and Submit
- After you have completed all the template information, click Review & Submit at the bottom of the screen:
Click Close on the Control Bar to discard the template.
Click Save as Draft on the Control Bar to complete the template at a later time.Error?- View the error message displayed:
- Review the highlighted fields on screen and update as required. If a beneficiary has an error, there will be a warning message in the payment instruction:
Click Beneficiary Payment Details to view the error in the Beneficiary Payment Details pop-up window:

- Review the template details and click Submit to submit the template:
If the template details are not correct, click Previous to return to the previous screen and edit the template as required.RESULT:
- If your organisation requires Templates to be approved, a confirmation pop-up window is displayed advising that the template has been submitted for approval. The template will need to be approved or rejected before it can be used to create a payment.
- If your organisation does not require Templates to be approved, a confirmation pop-up window is displayed, and the template is ready to be used to create a payment. Note that you may need to approve new beneficiaries added to the template before a payment can be made.
