From 29 June 2026, Seven-day end of day balance and transaction reporting will be available via ANZ Fileactive, allowing faster reconciliation including weekends and public holidays.
The reporting will be available for New Zealand domiciled NZD accounts.
You will need to decide what reporting option is right for your business, whether you would like to continue with five days a week OR change to seven days a week.
What 7-day reporting can help with:
- More timely visibility - see your balances and transactions every day, including weekends.
- Simpler reconciliation - daily files remove weekend gaps and Monday's backlog.
- Continuous operations - if you want to be able to operate 7 days a week.
- A smoother customer experience - For example, weekend online purchases are processed the same day they occur.
What accounts are included in 7-day reporting:
- New Zealand domiciled NZD accounts. Your choice will apply to all NZD accounts and cannot be chosen on an account-by-account basis.
- Exclusions: Foreign Currency Accounts (FCAs) and Credit Cards are not supported for 7-day reporting and will remain 5 days.
Things you need to know
Key terms
- Reporting - End of Day (EOD) Balance and Transaction Reporting (BTR).
- Non-business day (NBD) is Saturday, Sunday, or New Zealand national public holiday.
- Business day is Monday to Friday, excluding New Zealand national public holidays.
- Calendar day is any day of the year.
- Post date is the transaction processing date and displays a business day.
- Value date (or effective date) is the date the transaction occurred. The transaction can be on a business day or non-business day.
High level considerations
- BTR option: you will need to select either 5-day BTR or 7-day BTR for all your NZD accounts. FCAs and Credit Cards will remain with 5-day BTR.
- File formats: the same formats are available for 7 day-BTR or 5-day BTR (.csv, MT940, CAMT053, Tandem, etc.,)
- File delivery time: scheduled every morning, at the same time as 5-day BTR. Weekend files may arrive later due to maintenance. Check Status Page for updates.
- 7-day reporting value date must be enabled to ensure you receive all calendar day dates within BTR files. In most cases, value date supersedes the post date for reporting and other calculations.
What to do if you are interested in 7-day reporting
To move to 7-day BTR, contact your ANZ Transaction Banking Manager (TBM) or Relationship Manager (RM) and discuss your requirements. You will then be introduced to our Implementation and Technical teams, who will work with you to facilitate the process end-to-end.
Overview of BTR options: Intraday, 5‑day and 7-day BTR
7‑day BTR provides a daily file for every calendar day, while 5‑day BTR provides a file for every business day i.e., combines weekend activity into Monday’s reporting, delivered on a Tuesday morning. For a comparison, Intraday provides files throughout the day.

Your questions, answered
The key difference is:
-
7-day BTR
- is delivered every day, 365 days per year
- the content is determined by the transaction value date
-
5-day BTR
- is delivered on Tuesday to Saturday for business days (not on weekends and public holidays)
- the content is aligned to the business day date the transaction was processed (post-date)
You can choose what option works best for your business operations.
