Import Letter of Credit is a reliable and secure way for importers and exporters to protect their interests and minimise their respective risks in a trade transaction.
TRANSACTION TYPE | DESCRIPTION |
Acceptance | An Acceptance indicates documents presented against an Import Letter of Credit with Payment Terms = Available by Negotiation, and the documents are accepted. This transaction will generate a ‘Time Instrument’ prefix reference of ‘BM’ and used with subsequent communications about the acceptance. |
Accounts Receivable Payment | Transactions is used to settle any billed (invoiced) fees and charges. |
Adjustment | Collection or refund of fees, charges or other miscellaneous amounts. |
Amend | An amendment to the Import Letter of Credit instrument instructions. |
Change | Updates or corrections by the bank to the underlying Import Letter of Credit. |
Create Usance | Associated to the Acceptance processing, this transaction will generate a ‘Time Instrument’ prefix reference of ‘BM’ and used with subsequent communications about the acceptance. |
Deactivate | An Import Letter of Credit is deemed inactive 15 days after the expiry date. Any outstanding liabilities for the Import Letter of Credit will be cleared. |

An automated email will notify you of the SIR if you have registered for automated email notifications. The purpose of an SIR message is to seek payment instructions for the related transaction.

- Method 1: From your Home screen dashboard, click the Transaction type from Notifications
- Method 2: Click the speech icon from the Application Banner to open the Notification screen, then click the Transaction
- Method 3: Click Transactions > History from the Application Banner menu, then search and click + to expand an Instrument ID.

VIEW AND DOWNLOAD

1 | Click Reports > Standard Reports from the Application Banner menu |
2 | Filter to Show Trade |
3 | Click a Report Name from the grid |
4 | If required, enter Report Criteria, e.g. Date Range |
5 | Click Show Report
RESULT: The report is visible on the screen.

6 | If required, click Expand to view the report in the same size as your screen. |
7 | If required, click Save As to save a copy of the report, then enter a Report Name, Report Description, Report Type and save as a Standard or Custom Report. Then click Save. |
8 | If required, click the icon to download the report in CSV, PDF or XLSX |
9 | Click Close to exit out of the report |
- The instrument number will have a LM prefix when processed manually instead of LMP, when processed online.
- You can view the Current Terms Summary, associated commission and charges, as well as the generated Acknowledgement.
- The Transaction Log will show 'Bank' as the Action, as the Bank had performed the Import LC issuance upon your request.
