Frequently Asked Questions for Corporate customers
ANZ Fileactive
Can I continue to send and receive existing payment and reporting file formats via ANZ Fileactive?
Yes, you can continue to send and receive your existing payment and reporting formats including MT101 for International and RTGS payments and MT9xx series messages for account reporting. ANZ will continue to support our customers with sending and receiving these file formats for the foreseeable future.
Can I send and receive ISO 20022 payment and reporting formats via ANZ Fileactive?

Yes, ANZ Fileactive currently supports beneficiary names up to 140 characters when using the pain.001 file format. The MT101 file format supports beneficiary names up to 66 characters by using the :59F option.
How will ANZ support me to ensure my payments files are compliant with the ISO / SWIFT address standard?
A self-service file checker is available, allowing customers to validate their MT101 and pain.001 files are hybrid address compliant.
What are the potential benefits of adopting Fully Structured address vs Hybrid address?
A fully structured address provides higher data quality and consistency, which supports end-to-end straight-through processing. It is aligned with ISO 20022 international standards and considered the future-ready option, although it typically requires more effort to implement.
In contrast, the hybrid address approach offers a more practical transition path. It is quicker and simpler to implement and works well in situations where address data is incomplete or stored in unstructured formats, making it a more flexible option.
Do I need to provide Town Name / City and Country of the Beneficiary Bank / Creditor Agent?
No, a postal address is not required for the Beneficiary Bank or Creditor Agent. For international payments, the Beneficiary Bank must be identified using a valid SWIFT BIC. For RTGS payments, the Beneficiary Bank should be identified using the relevant National Clearing Code, such as BSB in Australia.
Do I need to provide Hybrid or Structured address details in the Payer/Debtor field?
There is no change in the information that needs to be provided for the Payer / Debtor address. Existing requirements continue to apply.

Example of using MT101 Option F in Field 59: :59F:/BE30001216371411 1/JOHN SMITH 2/HOOGSTRAAT 6, 18TH FLOOR 3/BE/BRUSSELS,1000 Where: 1/= Name (JOHN SMITH) 2/=Address Line (HOOGSTRAAT 6, 18TH FLOOR) 3/=Country Code (BE), Town Name (BRUSSELS), and Postal Code (1000)
Do I need to consider impacts on other MT101 fields?
While not typically used by SCORE customers, MT101 fields 56D and 57D must comply with revised address requirements or messages will be rejected.
