To protect yourself against cybercrime, you must:
- Protect your Token as you would your credit card
- Store your Token securely when you have finished your online banking session
- Not share your Token or PIN with anyone
- Immediately advise ANZ if your Token is lost or has been stolen
Token is a handheld security device that enables you to logon and authenticate ANZ Digital Channel activities and transactions using a PIN and either e-Signature (SIG) or One Time Password (OTP) on your device.
How to turn on/off your Token
To turn on: Hold down the arrow and then press the lock button.
To turn off: Your token will automatically switch off if you have not pressed any buttons for 20 seconds. Alternatively, you can hold down the arrow button.

How to unblock your Token
Your token will arrive blocked. Follow the instructions from your letter to activate your token. Your token will also become blocked if you enter your PIN incorrectly five times.
- Click Unblock Token on the Log On screen
- Enter your Password and click Continue
- Enter the 10-digit serial number of the token and click Next
- Enter the Unblock Code and click Next
- Set a token PIN and click Next
How to unlock your Token
As a security measure, your token will become locked if you enter your OTP/SIG code incorrectly three times in the digital channel. Please contact the ANZ Customer Service Centre to unlock your token.
How to change the PIN on your Token
You can change your token PIN at any time.
Digipass 276 Token
To change your PIN:
- Switch on your token, enter your current 6-digit PIN and then press the arrow button. The token will display CHOOSE.
- Hold down 8 for two seconds
- Enter your current 6-digit PIN and press the arrow button
- Enter your new 6-digit PIN and press the arrow button
- Re-enter the new 6-digit PIN and press the arrow button
RESULT: Your PIN has successfully been set when the token displays CHOOSE.
The token will not accept PINs it determines to be weak or unsafe, such as 987654 and 111111. If the token displays NOT SAFE you must enter and re-enter a different 6-digit PIN.
Digipass 270 XPRESS Token
To change your PIN:
- Switch on your token, enter your current 6-digit PIN and then press the arrow button. The token will display CHOOSE.
- Hold down the arrow button for two seconds
- Enter your new 6-digit PIN
- Re-enter the new 6-digit PIN
RESULT: Your PIN has successfully been set when the token displays CHOOSE.

How do I order a replacement token?
- Customers in Australia can request a replacement token by calling 133199 option 3, 3 (replacement charges may apply)
- Customers in New Zealand can request a replacement token by calling 0800 800 760 option 1 (replacement charges may apply)
How long do I have to activate a token?
You have 30 days to activate a token.
How long does it take to replace a token?
Replacement tokens are normally dispatched by courier the next business day after initiating the request.
How to generate a One Time Password (OTP) on your Token
Digipass 276 Token
- Switch on your token, enter your current 6-digit PIN and then press the arrow button. The token will display CHOOSE.
- Press 1 to generate a 6-digit OTP
- Enter this OTP into the One Time Password field displayed on the ANZ digital channel screen
Digipass 270 XPRESS Token
- Switch on your token, enter your current 6-digit PIN. The token will display CHOOSE.
- Press 1 to generate a 6-digit OTP
- Enter this OTP into the One Time Password field displayed on the ANZ digital channel screen
How to generate a Signature Code (SIG) on your Digipass 270 XPRESS Token
- Switch on your token, enter your current 6-digit PIN and then press the arrow button. The token will display CHOOSE.
- Press 2 on your token
- Enter in the 6-digit value displayed in the Token Entry Field in your ANZ digital channel
- Once the token displays enter 2------- press the arrow button
- Enter the 7-digital value displayed on your token into the Token Signature Code field in your ANZ digital channel
How to generate a 1-value Signature response code on your Digipass 276 Token
- Switch on your token, enter your current 6-digit PIN and then press the arrow button. The token will display CHOOSE.
- Press 2 to generate an Online Response Code or 3 to generate an Offline Response Code
- Enter the 6-digit value displayed in your ANZ digital channel into the token and press the arrow button
- Once the token displays enter 2------- press the arrow button
- Enter the 7-digital value displayed on your token into the Response Code field in your ANZ digital channel
How to generate a 3-value Signature response code on your Digipass 276 Token
- Switch on your token, enter your current 6-digit PIN and then press the arrow button. The token will display CHOOSE.
- Press 2 to generate an Online Response Code
- Enter the 6-digit value displayed in your ANZ digital channel into the token and press the arrow button.
- Enter the second value into the token and press the arrow button
- Enter the third value into the token and press the arrow button
- Enter the 7-digital value displayed on your token into the Response Code field in your ANZ digital channel

Depending on the frequency of use, your token battery will last up to five years. As the battery life diminishes, the on-screen value will drop from 5 to 0. When the battery life is low, the token will continue functioning before it becomes completely exhausted. We recommend contacting the ANZ Customer Service Centre as soon as you see the low battery warning to ensure you receive a new token or arrange for ANZ Digital Key. |
