ANZ Transactive - Global
This period is a prime target for cyber criminals who seek to exploit the increased online activity. It’s a timely reminder that cybercrime threats are evolving, and email security is not ‘set and forget’. Here are some tips to help protect your business:
- Always seek confirmation (using a trusted contact number) if you receive a request to change account or payment details. Avoid using contact details listed on the email, message, or document in question.
- Treat urgent requests with suspicion. Always check email addresses and details carefully; and ensure robust security policies and procedures are in place.
- Protect yourself from impersonation scams. Never disclose sensitive banking details (like passwords, PINS, one-time passcodes or token codes) during a phone call, even with ANZ staff.
- Educate your employees about common scams and cybersecurity best practices. Regular training sessions can help them recognise and avoid potential threats.
