About eKYC

We’re required by law to collect information from you to verify your identity before we can provide you with financial products or services.

This process is called “Know Your Customer” or “KYC” and is an important part of the way we manage the risk of fraud and financial crime while also helping us comply with relevant anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing laws.

eKYC is ANZ's digital identity verification process, which allows eligible users to verify their identity using a compatible mobile device.

With eKYC Identity Verification, you can now verify your identity online in minutes without needing to visit a branch.

Eligible users can complete identity verification by:

• Logging in to a secure portal 
• Uploading or scanning an accepted ID (passport, ePassport or driver’s licence)
• Taking a live self-portrait (“selfie”) for biometric verification. 

The system cross-checks the ID and biometric data within seconds using a secure data aggregation service.

How eKYC works

eKYC must be completed on a mobile device by following the below steps (smartphone or tablet):

1. Email Invitation: you will receive an email with a secure link 
2. Open link on mobile: open the link using a mobile web browser 
3. Capture ID: uses your device's camera to take a live photo of a valid ID document (passport or driver’s licence) 
4. Review details: review and confirm your personal details 
5. Biometric check: take a live self-portrait (“selfie”) for verification 
6. Data matching: your ID and biometric data will be securely validated against a third-party system 
7. System integration: once verified, your KYC details will be automatically updated in ANZ's systems, granting access to Transactive Global
